Background

The Asian Games, also known as
Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every fourth year among athletes
from all over Asia. The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation from
the first Games in New Delhi, India in 1951, until the 1978 Games

19th Asian
Games, which were held in Hangzhou, People's Republic of China from 23
September to 8 October.

More than 12,000 athletes from all 45 members of the Olympic

Total of 481 events were contested, with
competitions in nine sports - archery, artistic swimming, boxing, breaking,
hockey, modern pentathlon, sailing, tennis and water polo - will serving as
Olympic qualifiers, with Paris 2024 quotas on the line.
